Joel Jernberg: “Best innovation since the hearing aid.”
I think that the loopset is the best innovation since the invention of the hearing aid.
Forty-year-old Joel Jernberg was diagnosed with a severe hearing defect at the age of five. "The hearing defect is a social defect, which complicates interaction with other people. I have, however, managed with good hearing aids and lip-reading skills." Today Joel leads an ordinary family life with wife and two small children. He works as a bus driver in the Turku region. "In my free time I play videogames with my son and take walks with my family."
Joel has a hearing aid in both ears. He started using a loopset when the first version of the product was launched. "I think that the loopset is the best innovation since the invention of the hearing aid. Without the loopset I wouldn't probably be able work as a bus driver. If something happens, I have to be able to make an emergency call." For Joel, it is essential that the battery doesn't die during the workday. "It's nice that I can listen to the radio and talk with my colleagues without having to worry about the battery."
Mikko Haho: “Loopset LPS-6 is ideal for professional use.”
The loopset is one of the finest products that I have developed for the hard of hearing.
Entrepreneur Mikko Haho is probably one of the most loyal users of the loopset, for he is one of the engineers behind the product. "I came up with the idea of an induction loop connected to a mobile phone during my studentship. I have a severe hearing defect myself and originally I designed the device to meet my special needs. After that the R&D has focused especially on safety, ease of use and long operating time. The loopset is one of the finest products that I have developed for the hard of hearing," Mikko says proudly.
Nokia brought the first version of the product to the market already in 1998. "The newest loopset is very versatile. I think that the best feature of Loopset LPS-6 is the subtle vibration alert that is easy to detect, but does not disturb other people with normal hearing. I warmly recommend Loopset LPS-6 to all hearing aid users. Communication becomes much easier when the audio is crystal clear! Loopset LPS-6 is also ideal for professional use."
Milla Lindh: “I can handle the calls with a single button.”
I use the loopset for business calls on a daily basis. The neck loop leaves my hands free so I can sign at the same time.
Milla Lindh is a 38-year-old mother of three. Milla has Usher Syndrome, which causes progressive hearing loss and retinitis pigmentosa. "I had normal hearing until I turned 6. After that my hearing started gradually decreasing." Now, Milla has cochlear implants in both ears. She has used the loopset for about three years. "I use the loopset for business calls on a daily basis. The neck loop leaves my hands free so I can sign at the same time. On holidays I connect the loopset to my personal phone because I find the handsfree calls so easy and convenient."
Since Milla is also visually impaired, she can’t really see the screen. With Loopset LPS-6 she can handle the calls with a single button. "But the best thing about Loopset LPS-6 is reliability. I don’t have to worry about a breaking connection. The sound is so clear that the loop actually allows me to listen and talk in the middle of a screaming group of children. And the battery lasts forever. I don’t even remember when I last charged it! I also like the fact that Loopset LPS-6 vibrates when I forget my phone somewhere. I think that Loopset LPS-6 also looks really nice."
